The George - Isle of Wight

I had a terrible experience at the George Inn. The owner was unnecessarily rude and confrontational. It seems like I am not the only person who has had to deal with this behavior based on previous reviews. I do not recommend this establishment.

I visited The George for lunch but was disappointed to find out they no longer serve food on weekdays. They only offer Sunday lunch now, but the reason for this change was not provided. Additionally, their website has not been updated to reflect this change.

Once again, we enjoyed a delicious and affordable home-cooked Sunday lunch and dessert at this family-run traditional pub on the island. It's always worth a visit for a meal or just for drinks. Hayley and her team in the kitchen do a fantastic job, while Bob and Mandy are excellent hosts. The atmosphere is friendly, with locals and families feeling welcome. The pub also has a large beer garden that's perfect for enjoying the sunshine, and it's conveniently located in the heart of Newport.

Amazing Sunday lunch, the Biscoff Cheesecake was to die for, great atmosphere, thanks to Bob, Hayley and Mandy, would highly recommend you won't be disappointed

Yet another fantastic Sunday Lunch and pudding for 12.95 at this lovely, well run Isle of Wight pub. Great friendly service and food from Bob, Mandy, Hayley and the team. Pure quality.
