Needed an evening meal in Holyhead, didn't want spicy food as sailing next day. This pub was about the only place providing an excellent range of pub grub. Landlord was a top bloke very friendly and chatty with a sharp wit and recommended the fish and the pork chops we is what we both had and both meals were outstanding. Good range of drinks and food worth a visit. Rooms: 4

I was at the Stanley Arms for my second time. The barman is very friendly and helpful. I had to cracking pints of John Smith. Food drinks: Drink is cheap I Don know what the food is like but I did have a look at the menu and it's impressive. Maby on my next day trip to Holyhead I'll grab a bit to eat in the Stanley Arms. Service: 4 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Great value

The Stanley Arms in Holyhead offers a mixed experience for visitors, balancing its strengths and weaknesses. The pub is known for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and reasonably priced, delicious food options—especially the burgers and deep-fried prawns. While some may be deterred by the youthful vibe and outdoor seating conditions, others appreciate its good location and value. Anticipation surrounds the reopening of food service post-pandemic, with guests eager to return. Overall, the Stanley Arms stands out as a budget-friendly spot with potential for a great dining experience, even amidst the surrounding town's challenges.

We came in holyhead without warning where we go to lunch. we entered the stanleyarms and the pub owner was very friendly. we ordered a few drinks and decided to eat a quick bite. I was not so hungry so we ordered a cooked wrap. between us. it was absolutely delicious that we were told that the garlic mayonnaise was made home. incredible for £6! that was the greatest shock! would definitely return! great mood at the place!

I came to angles to see south stack lighthouse and spent the night in holyhead before I catched the ferry to dublin the next day. it was incredibly windy, but sunny in the evening when I was looking for dinner in the city. I have starved! I saw the stanley arms and on the side of the building there said something like great food I wasn't sure how good that could actually be in the pub, but decided to give it a shot. it was great! I have the hushpuppy appetizer and a steak with pommes. it was all phenomenal. in the did, I am hungry, as I enter this review! as well, I strongly recommend this place!

It`s been six years since we visited Holyhead and this pub. Sadly the town is looking a bit shabbier as many high streets are but the welcome and food at the pub was as good as last time. Big smiles and friendly , the girl...serving us was great. Menu is a bit different to other establishments, enough choice for anyone and reasonably priced. The burgers were delicious but too big for us to finish. We will be back when it gets a bit warmer as we just headed straight back to the train-it`s a lovely journey along the welsh coast.

My husband and I stayed at the Stanley Arms while searching for a flat in Anglesey. The house hunt took longer than we anticipated, so we had to extend our stay. Luckily, this friendly place had no problem accommodating us! Not only were the rooms perfect - spacious with en suite bathrooms, TVs, and all other amenities - but downstairs there was also a pub restaurant serving delicious pub grub and drinks. The location was ideal, right in the town center yet surprisingly quiet.

Stopped off here for lunch on our way back to Porthmadog from visiting RSPB South Stacks. We were made welcome and chose the fish and chips, which was delicious. Fresh plaice in a light batter, good chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce all included in the price, which was very reasonable. Not the smartest decor but friendly and efficient. Good place for a tasty meal.

My sister and I both decided to order the burger with prawns and fries from the menu, and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the meal turned out to be! The deep-fried prawns were some of the best we had ever tasted, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The burger was also fantastic. However, what truly made our lunch experience exceptional was the wonderful service provided by the waitress. She was helpful, genuine, and friendly, truly a standout employee of the pub. I hope that this excellent establishment can weather the challenges presented by the current situation. Holyhead is lucky to have such a great pub in town!

I paid a very low price for a single room at this hotel. I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was quiet, located in the center of town, and had its own bathroom. While it may not have been spotlessly clean, it was still a good option for a budget-friendly stopover in Holyhead. They will be serving food soon after Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, and it is also a good value for the money.

Was catching ferry early next morning, so was a very cheap and enjoyable stop over as had driven 250 miles on my motorbike. Lovely warm welcome, friendly staff and locals, nice clean room and good beer! Going to stay there every time I visit Dublin!
