Walmart Supercenter - Island City

It's Walmart, if you miss circuses one always waiting for you there.

Found everything ok but had to purchase bags for $0.74 each for my groceries. Multi million dollar company and can't afford to have bags. But multi self check out registers.

I avoid Walmart, especially this one as much as possible. The remodeling of the store happens far too often and is beyond ridiculous, because it 's not even necessary. All it does is just aggravate and annoy people when they finally, after the last remodel, are able to start being able to find their products again, then they turn around and remodel it all again and no one can find anything! To top it all off, there 's hardly ever an employee to be found that doesn 't either act annoyed, or as if you 're burdening them if you need help finding something, let alone find one that can hardly even smile back at you these days... But the worst part of all, is The fact that this company has gotten completely lazy. It is almost impossible, at any time of day, to find an actual register that is being ran by a cashier who can check out your groceries for you. Therefore you 're forced to use their stupid self checkout machines, which more times than not, or more of a hassle than anything. Then the employees will hover over everyone 's shoulders while you 're forced to use self checkouts, and proceed to stare at people with degrading looks on their faces, like they 're some sort a thief or something, AND occasionally have the audacity to try and check your receipt when you leave the store, even though they just watched you check all your items (involuntarily) at the self checkout... Cashiers these days, are basically just paid people watchers . -CASHIERS are supposed to be there to WORK. -CUSTOMERS go to Walmart to get their shopping done, and really don 't want to (and shouldn 't have to) scan and bag all their own items, on tiny little self checkouts, while the cashiers are getting paid to stand there and watch us. Customers are the ones doing the work, yet aren 't getting paid for it. Pretty sure if we wanted to scan and bag our own groceries we would have applied for a job there. Walmart needs to quit being lazy and go back to operating a store with cashiers the correct way!

Staff avoid having to help find anything, really trained on the pass the buck skill. And expect to check yourself out. None of the cashiers are cashiers. Seems like they 're just security .

"What can I say? The place is well-maintained, clean, and has reasonable hours. They have everything you need. I remember when I used to go to Walmart, thinking about supporting American products, but that’s not really the case anymore."
