View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mar-Bella Rawbar & Grill Isla Mujeres:
The view from 2nd floor is amazing, especially at sunset. Our server, Raul, was very helpful. I have been to Mar-Bella in Puerto Juarez in Cancun many times so we expected more. Isla Mujeres location opened in February. Seafood is fresh but cooks in kitchen appear to be inexperienced. Seafood was overcooked. One scallop was cut in half, attempting to make 1 scallop look like 2...it took almost an hour to get our meal... View all feedback.
The BEST ceviche I've ever, ever, EVER eaten! The service was excellent and the food was to die for! Cool, place off the beaten path with a great vibe. If you are on Isla Mujeres just go!
I came along way to order the Hamachi o Atún off of the menu after watching a blogger dine here. The atmosphere was beautiful. The waiter was friendly. Our problem started with the menu—it was very confusing. Our waiter was not able to tell us the prices of items. There were no prices listed, only market prices for a list of fish in pesos/kg. There was no drink menu. We finally ordered this Hamachi appetizer and it was poorly prepared. My 9 year old could have made cuts of fish nicer than what was served to us. There were tendons in the fish and a lot of dark flesh that did not taste good, but very fishy and smelly. We wanted to know how much it was before ordering more food. When we asked for the bill they brought it to us and it was 70 USD. This one small appetizer of hamachi was $570 pesos! One mojito, one Dos Equis, water and our 1 appetizer was 70 USD. We will not be returning to this restaurant or recommending it to anyone. Hamachi is Yellowtail, so I am still wondering why the Hamachi was $2850/kg and the Yellowtail was $700. Steer clear of this place y’all.
Went for dinner with friends. We ordered grilled hogfish, grilled shrimp, and scallops sashimi. Only the scallops were prepared well. The fish and shrimp were both overcooked. The music was much louder than I remembered…almost too loud to talk. Uncomfortably hot. Not what we enjoyed 3 years ago and not what we had looked forward to.
Excellent service and food, gorgeous beach tables from which to watch boats come in, the sun set, and the lights of Cancun twinkle.
I’ve heard such good things over the years about Marbella and we were excited to finally actually try it. We went on a Sunday at 4:30. It was crazy busy which is great for them!! We waited for a table which was understandable. When we were finally seated, oh my, what chaos!!! The music was soooo loud you couldn’t hear or talk. You know the techno kind with a crazy constant pounding beat! Now again, as I said, it was our first time and their menu and charging by the kilo is very confusing. Between the loud music, trying to understand our waiter with his Spanish accent plus a face mask was nearly impossible! We felt like idiots! Well, we weren’t alone! The table next to us were two older couples who gave up, got angry and asked for there check for there drinks and left. The next table was fighting about their bill and very angry. Now, the food, when we finally got it, was just ok. Nothing spectacular as we expected according to other reviews, The best thing we had was their guacamole! We ended up being there until 7:30! If it had been great, it would have been no problem. Seemed like an off night to say the least. I was stressed, as a male manager I assume, was constantly coming upstairs to yell at the worker who was clearing tables and setting them up for us. He may have needed it, but it was super uncomfortable for us. In other words, there are too many great places to eat on the island rather then have to have gone through that chaos!
