:)My husband and I spent an afternoon here enjoying the food and atmosphere. The beers are cold, the service fantastic, and the food good.... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hemingway's Grill:
I went in Feb 29th to take pictures because we were told it was closing March 1st. I have Hemingway relatives so I wanted pictures for my mom. Nice art work but I never ate or drank there. It's been there a while. View all feedback.
Have a real cantina experience. Most are located back through a dark alley but this is open with a great porch. Loud music and lots of beer.
When you order drinks, they will bring a lot of free hors d'oeuvres, such as pieces of chicken, fried fish, some mystery ground meat, pico de gallo, pieces of grilled corn on the cob with spices etc. etc. There is so much of it so it functions as a light meal. I did not really like their Margaritas, they were a bit too sour, maybe with no Controy, but priced at 65 pesos for a large glass, they were less than at most other restaurants. The surroundings are humble and there are many locals. The music (canned) level is so loud so you can hardly have a conversation, but thankfully, there were several fairly long breaks. I have noticed that other reviews say that staff speaks only Spanish. Our waitress spoke pretty good English. Not a place you take your in-laws or underage children. Great if you go out for budget drinking and eating with a group. By the way, the place is better known as La Tablita. Few people call it Hemingways, probably for risk of confusing it with other places alluding to Hemingway, such as the Old Man and the Sea outside town, another somewhat rough place.

My bride and I tried to have a happy hour drink and an appetizer here one afternoon. All the outside table were full, and the inside music was so loud we decided to leave...
