I saw this restaurant and had to try it. First off, it sits at city level on a platform or stilts that are tall, coming from the river level! Food is good, I had ceviche and cold beer. The main maloca is a classic. As with most of Iquitos, they are waiting on the river to rise to wash away the trash and debris, so the view down below is less than desirable. View all feedback.

I recommended this restaurant from Garden House Hotel and I believe that the location is beautiful. The food is simple, but the prices are too high. I had some misunderstandings about my soup (he told them I wanted it without pasta, still it was full of spaghetti and they accused me full) and they were not flexible or friendly about it.
The pleasant afternoon view from our apartment window suggested Ajarys to be a great spot for a drink with friends in the setting sun. This was until the sun set, of course, and the sophisticated bar on stilts overlooking the river Itaya transformed into a giant shaky wooden speaker leaking bass into windows near and far. With the geographical potential to be a town favourite for tranquil evening cocktails, Ajarys proved to be a disappointment. Making conversation with friends inside the venue was near impossible due to the sheer volume of the playing music which was surprising in itself considering the fact there was nobody to be found on the dancefloor.
Seafood is good here albeit a tad expensive. Service is OK but beware the waitresses as they tout for drinks and choose something outrageous which of course ends up on your tab. Lunch is good there but do stay with the seafood.
Let me start by saying that this place has potential. The view is beautiful and the building is very nice with its wooden floors and its rustic decor. If I was the owner I would offer yoga classes in the area that overlooks the river. It would be the perfect place for chlling and relaxing. Now the bad. The loud music is terrible. I went to grab a drink/cocktail with friends and it was impossible to have a conversation. We asked them to lower the volume and it was still too loud. We stayed for just one round of drinks that were mediocre (my friend had a chilcano and that was the only decent cocktail) as it was the service. I understand this is Iquitos and people love their loud music but the level of noise at this place should be considered illegal.
