Went here today for lunch. We sat on the top deck and it was beautiful overlooking the water. We both ordered the lamb rump from the set menu which was nice. My friend ordered a side of beans and these took a little time to come. For dessert, I then had the strawberry cheesecake which wasn’t too enjoyable, the cheese part was really stiff. My friend had the cheese board which she enjoyed. Waiting staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. In all a nice lunchtime meal.
My word this was poor. We have been there several times and it was great. We booked for this evening and really built it up to our friend. Ordered 2 starters and only got one. Waiter made a mistake it happens. After 1 hour and 15 minutes we asked where our mains were. 15 minutes later I was ready to walk out but was persuaded to stay. Suspect any dessert would have come around breakfast time. I have no problem paying top dollar for a good experience but this was rubbish. Food was ok but the service destroyed the evening. I complained but nobody really cared. 2 stars a bit generous to be honest.
Not a great experience. A beef wellington was presented as a lamb dish, overall choice was limited for GF. The service was very poor, a bottle of wine was corked (it was replaced however) and despite the owner telling my mother on her 81st birthday that she could have a Creme Brûlée desert, staff had no idea and told her she couldn’t. Then at the end, I requested some water and the waitress, sometime later, brought a bottle to the table behind us and not to us. The food itself was OK but really not deserving of the price tag. A Gordon Ramsey approach tonight would have been brutal.
Had a great experience food was lovely and great service even did us a free dessert with happy anniversary wrote in chocolate sauce definitely recommend probably the best restaurant in Ipswich
