Mayflower
Description
Nestled in a bustling neighborhood, this restaurant offers a mixed culinary experience that has left some guests thrilled, while others are deeply disappointed. Patrons rave about the vibrant atmosphere and attentive service, highlighting favorites like seafood soups and a delightful variety of dishes, especially on jazz nights. However, not all reviews reflect such enthusiasm; some diners lament flavorless options and poor-quality sushi, describing service encounters that felt unfriendly and dismissive. While many frequent this spot for its unique menu and lively ambiance, others caution potential visitors to temper their expectations. An exploration here may yield splendid delights or disheartening meals.

I recently ordered takeout from Mayflower Restaurant, and their sushi was absolutely outstanding! Each piece was buttery and fantastic, highlighting the freshness of the fish. The sushi rice wasn’t hot, which I found to be a positive—it allowed the flavors to truly shine without being overwhelming. Even as takeout, the presentation was impressive, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. Overall, it was a superb meal, and I’m eager to return for more. Highly recommended for anyone craving exceptional sushi! Food: 5
Spent $40 on horrible, horrible food. The sushi was clearly not fresh, the overpriced sweet and sour shrimp was just hilarious. $15 for almost nonexistent shrimp in HUGE balls of deep friend dough with a cheap sauce on the side. The cherry on top was there were a few staples in my food!! I called the restaurant and explained the situation the nicest way possible. The woman on the line was extremely rude, unapologetic and basically called me a liar. After numerous times of spending money supporting a local business..this is how you thank us? What a shame. No wonder people tell me that they do not go to you guys anymore. Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
For chinese food this place is by far the best! We love coming here all the time! I love their seafood soup and miso soup. Always a winner to me. The service is great as always. We come here so often that the servers already know us by face if not by name. If you come by on a Tuesday night, there is live jazz band music and oh man! they are very good! You need to come and hear them out if you love jazz! : Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Fried Rice, Satay
Placed a delivery order, super easy online ordering, surprised that it was so expensive but figured it was well reviewed. I even made a mistake on my address and had to call and change it and they made it easy to change and were friendly. But the food was really poor. No flavor in the udon noodle stir fry some very terrible crab Rangoon, no flavor very low quality. The sushi- salmon, was off, I love salmon sushi, I eat it all the time and I couldn’t have more than two bits. Made me really appreciate ordering from my go to spots. The staff was great, the food was terrible and expensive. Service: Delivery Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 5 Recommended dishes: Crab Rangoons
Opened at 11:00. Placed an order at 11:05. Was told it would be 25 minutes after already paying. The food came out at 11:40. I asked if the hours online were correct because there weren’t any other customers in the restaurant and the food still took over 30 minutes. I was told (quite rudely) “the cooks were stuck in traffic”. You should have said that before taking my money! The food definitely didn’t taste fresh. Lukewarm at best. Dried up boneless spareribs. Tasteless rice. Biggest waste of money. Service: Takeaway Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
