Was Jane Vasudevan at Foh San a mag?

One of the most famous dimming and tea palms for early breakfast in the heart of Ipoh city. This place is often packed, regardless of which day of the week. Holidays and weekend visits are best avoided unless you can show up before seven. And yes, the place opens so early in the morning. View all feedback.

What Iris Yap dislikes about Foh San:

Visited Foh San for dim sum, and overall, the experience was quite normal. The food was just so-so—nothing particularly memorable in terms of taste or variety. However, one highlight was the service. The elderly lady server was very nice and friendly, which made the visit more pleasant. The restaurant itself is spacious, but the food didn’t quite live up to its reputation. Worth a try if you're nearby, but don’t expe... View all feedback.

Best Dim Sum in Ipoh. Why Best? Bcs ambience is 5 stars, interior design is pleasing and very airy open air yet cooling. Came on Saturday morning peak hour 9am yet tables are available (its 2 levels and 3 shoplots together, ample seating available). Dim sum served is 精致 and freshly wrapped and steam upon order (serving time is reasonable 15mins since you know its handmade) If you are in a rush, don't eat dim sum okay? Service is great, basically you don't need to refill own tea, staff will help you. Price is OK provided with the quality, 2 pax for RM53+. Will come again. Side note: We plan to come for Ming Court, but utterly there is long queue of wait and restaurant is small. The last thing we want during covid-19 season is crowd, and also the feeling of rushing to eat just to spare a table for the next customer.

Absolutely without question, the BEST Dim sum in the city. Decor is beautiful and nostalgic, staff is professional and the food is delicious. The serving sizes are very generous with plenty of seating. Food has always been good for years. After a two-year pandemic hiatus absolutely nothing has changed! The food is just as delicious as before. All dishes were hot and fresh.

Last weekend was a long weekend holiday, went Ipoh one day makan trip with close friends, 8A1C. Assuming it will be a long queue session but surprisingly no, but as for the opposite road Ming Court, there is long queue of wait and restaurant is small. Good ventilation for 1st floor and ground floor. Toilet cleanliness soso. Food is normal, service is good and extra point added because it served while it is steaming hot. Recommendation is the special sauce chee cheong fun, and fried taro cake. It did not disappoint me. Personal opinion is quite pricey. Limited parking space. Parking fees. RM0.60 1 hours but have to download the apps and pay. Easy to top up the parking duration but minimum reload is RM10.00. so in the end I left RM7.00 inside the apps. hahaha...

In Ipoh, there is a fine eating destination that attracts all dim sum lovers—Foh San Restaurant. It comes to life in the mornings. Every nook and cranny is filled with groups of friends and families coming together to eat breakfast. Be prepared for a wait because the place really fills up fast. The dim sum choices are vast, from traditional siew mai and har gao to my favourite—char siu bao, which is soft and just sweet enough. The lo mai gai was deliciously rich and packed with quite a few fillings. The service can be a tad hurried during such busy hours, but efficiency seems to remain. Definitely worth the trip! As a kid I remembered coming here and was always happy to visit. Nowadays the food was okay. Not bad but nothing outstanding. If you want a quick dim sum it’s okay but don’t expect to be overwhelmed. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
