What V C dislikes about Curry Keng:
Reached on wkend morning, quiet and greeted by the friendly lady boss to take order. Happily waited for the curry noodle with sihams! Tasted ok but mum said the sihams not that fresh. Kopi was ok. The lady boss and male boss were nice, just hoping the food could be better! Didn't get to taste the pork lard rice thou.. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.

This is a little hidden gem I found in Ipoh. It is located nearer to the bridge and away from the busy strips of the tourist area. Hosted by a couple and just a helper, the pace of the shop seems to blend in well with the quiet surrounding. Tony, the shop owner, who was a national swimmer had all his proud moments being displayed on the walls of the cafe. The specialities of the shop is its unique nyonya curry that has it own distinctive aromatic taste. I liked it as it is not too spicy nor too rich. Making it perfect for breakfast. It was served with roast pork and chicken. I can even taste the charcoal taste in the roast pork. One can also order extra cockles to go with it. The Ipoh sar hor fun was served with its home cooked broth that combined chicken bone and pork bone with a slight whitish color. The other notable dish is the pork lard rice with egg. It is very tasty indeed. They also offer pork balls and other side dishes to go with the curry Mee or Sar hor Fun. They served Kopi/Teh with kuai Len gao which is pretty unique combination. The coffee is of decent quality. They also served various desserts like creme caramel egg custard and Logan tofu. The shop has a very high ceiling with fans. So the cafe is pretty relaxing and comfy place to hand out. This is a place I will come back again and again for its good food, relaxing atmosphere and friendly service.
