What James Forbes doesn't like about Shake Shack First National Building Downtown Detroit:
If I could give half a star it would be more factual. Food was somewhat okay. Waited in a line between 20-30 minutes. Only one kiosk was open. In my opinion, the staff was in no hurry. Even though there was many people in line. Saw a lot of people leave instead of waiting. I understand that Saturdays can be a busy time in Nashville, but come on. If I ever return, it will be long time. View all feedback.
I ordered the Hot Ones chicken sandwich but accidentally received a hamburger instead. When I brought the mistake to their attention, they gave me a chicken sandwich that looked like it had been sitting out for a while. To top it off, when I took my first bite, I discovered that they had left the paper on the cheese. This will certainly be my first and last visit.
The food was amazing! Everything was fresh and served in generous portions, and the fries were outstanding! We will certainly be back!
This was by far the worst experience we've ever had at a Shake Shack. While we usually love their food, this particular location was incredibly disappointing! We waited 20 minutes for our order, and the staff seemed uninterested and unmotivated to provide even basic service. They brought us food that was clearly sitting out while we waited for our shakes. When I brought this up to one of the staff members, she chose to argue with me instead of addressing the problem. The food was in poor condition—my burger was greasy, the cheese was cold, the fries were also cold, the lettuce was wilted, and there was only half a tomato. I've had better meals at fast food joints for a fraction of the price. Please get it together! If I could give this place zero stars, I definitely would!
If I could rate this place half a star, that would better represent my experience. The food was merely average. I waited in line for about 20 to 30 minutes, but there was only one kiosk operating. It felt like the staff had no sense of urgency, even with so many customers waiting. I saw several people leave rather than stick around. I get that Saturdays can be busy in Nashville, but this was excessive. If I do consider returning, it won’t be anytime soon.
The sandwiches are outstanding, and the homemade sauces truly elevate the flavors. The fries and teas were also incredibly tasty. Overall, I was genuinely impressed with the food and would definitely return.
