Hamburg Inn No. 2 East Side - Iowa City

Simply sweet restaurant with delicious fresh food! I was thrilled with my omelet and French toast. Hubby inspired his Mexican omelette. Our waiter was great and it was a whole new experience that she was politely listening to each other in her back! So glad we found this place!!!

I don't want to tell everyone, but this place is my favorite restaurant in Iowa City. It's really delicious. The service is impeccable and if it is slow, ask the cook to make you something from the cuff. Very recommended! Simple, fast, fresh and gluten-free friendly. Besides, everyone gets what they want.

I like this hamburg almost as much as the one downtown. The food is just as good. The location is connected to the BP petrol station and is a bit small inside, but we didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes for a table on a busy day. Same hamburg feel, same hamburg food. I like it because it is closer to home for me than the other location and is also usually *light* less busy on weekends because it is not in downtown.

Had to try a famous cakeshake, We chose the chocolate Bourbon Pecan cake shake and it was delicious. Definitely one of the more expensive shakes I've ever had. But not the less delicious.

Very sorry to see this Hamburg Inn Site close. Restaurants on the East side of Iowa City are sparse. The staff was always friendly and the small dining room created a community gathering spot feel
