I have to say, anyone giving less than a four-star rating here must be out of their minds. I've tried taquerias all over Southern California, and without a doubt, Bernardino's is my top choice. Their salsa, beans, and chicken enchiladas with green sauce are absolutely fantastic. Every meal feels like a home-cooked experience, and I've never been let down. We were definitely misled by the abundance of five-star reviews. The food was, at best, below average. The salsa tasted like something straight from a can, similar to what you’d find in grocery stores. Being one of the few dining options in town, I can understand why some people might rate it so highly. Great place to stop for authentic Mexican food. Very friendly and generous.
Good food. Staff was nice. We had a big party and they were kind about refilling the chips and salsa. Salsa was very good. Portion sizes are huge!
Headed home from mammoth and Bernardino popped up while headed home and it was the spot to stop for us!! Amazing Mexican food that tasted like grandmas! Staff as friendly as your own family and ac as cold as Winter!! I grabbed one of each of their tacos and by far hands down the winner of the day was the chorizo taco! The flavors were bright with a hint of what seemed like clove to make you crave more!! They have options for all and for those not in the vibe for the strong flavors don't worry they have gringo style options too!!
We went here on our way to Lake Tahoe as it's one of the few options for the area (and we needed to make a restroom stop). I was deceived by all the 5 star Yelp reviews and decided to dine here after reading the other reviews. The food was below average. But I guess if you don't have any other alternative options, it will taste like 5 stars to you. The service was fast and friendly. The location is in the middle of nowhere off the beaten path.
Very nice place to go, people r kind and honest. I liked it, I used 2 talk my beautiful dad and mom. All the time...
