What Craig Yelland doesn't like about Manna Gum:
We had a disappointing experience at the restaurant. The service was poor, and the staff were quite rude. They didn't have high chairs available, which was problematic for us on our first visit. When we decided to give it a second chance, they claimed they were fully booked, despite the restaurant being empty. View all feedback.
Really enjoy the food here every time I come. Staff are friendly, welcoming. helpful and great at their jobs. Good for functions. Definitely recommend.

As for the food, it was quite tasty, but I felt it leaned a bit too much towards Australian flavors for my taste. I ordered the spicy red lentil dahl, which, despite being labeled as spicy, was far from it—more like a mild version of dahl. My son opted for the Thai green curry, which was enjoyable but also lacked much in the way of curry flavor or spice. Even the red chili garnishes were bland. I understand that restaurants aim to please a wide range of diners, but in this case, it felt too cautious. Perhaps we just visited on an off night, but everyone in our group agreed that the portions were on the small side. It's worth noting that in Inverloch, dining tends to be about 20 to 30% pricier than similar options in Melbourne, and in my opinion, this meal didn't offer great value. The dahl arrived in a small bowl, roughly the size of an appetizer soup dish, and the serving of rice was just about a cup, maybe a cup and a half at most. Most of us were still hungry after finishing our meals. I usually get much larger portions at my local Thai restaurant and leave feeling satisfied. In summary, I wouldn’t say to avoid this place completely, but I would suggest you reconsider going out of your way to visit, despite the hype in the reviews.
I really love this place, and I'm so sad to see it go. Wishing the very best to Sue and Greg; you have been fantastic hosts. We'll miss this place dearly. Sending all my best wishes to you and the staff who have worked here.
