What Michael Dorrian doesn't like about Victoria:
Staff behind bar seem to be more interested in standing at one end of bar and chatting to each other and not recognising people are waiting to be served. Whilst I, and others, were waiting to be served I asked one of the staff who was wiping bar top if anyone was serving customers. The reply was there should be and he continued to wipe bar. The Victoria Bar is a wee gem. . .great for a blether, a beer and occasionly live music. The staff are always welcoming and ready with a smile and one of the best pint of Tennents Lager you find will anywhere! A perfect example of an old school pub that thrives in new school world.
I stopped by for a quick drink with my dog and found the place to be charming and spotlessly clean. The staff was attentive and friendly, especially towards my dog, which helped him feel more comfortable. He is usually anxious in busy environments, so this visit was a success in helping him acclimate. The music was great too, and I will definitely be returning. The price for a pint was also reasonable.
The pub had a fantastic atmosphere and the bartenders were very welcoming. I will definitely return.
