J & Y Chinese and Japanese Cuisine

This restaurant has the best decor of the Alcona Chinese restaurants. I loved their sweet and sour chicken balls and also their pork balls. The price and quantity were excellent! I have both dined there and had efficient tasty takeaway. I found that the food and service quality had greatly improved in recent years. I recently got a new menu in the mail and they are now mainly Japanese with a smaller Korean menu. I love beef bulgogi but don't see that there. I therefore need to visit and order from the Korean menu and see if they can still make me pork balls and chicken balls or not. I like sushi but the Sobeys in Alcona have a certified sushi maker and I'm loyal to her. Let's see what they can do for me. I've tasted real fiery Korean food downtown Toronto and courtesy of a cousin's Korean wife. Hopefully the new limited Korean menu meets my standards. It'll probably be less spicy and fiery to suit average Canadian tastes, but hopefully I enjoy it too... Stay tuned...

Placed a dinner order for 5 for pickup. Order was available on time and much more than enough for 5 people. Food was freshly prepared and very good. Saved 10% by paying cash with pickup. Staff courteous and friendly. Overall excellent value.

Great place to grab some lunch or take out. We come a few times a month, especially if no one wants to cook. Cash deals and free delivery on bigger orders. Great place to get lunch their lunch special is unbeatable. Plus they have a loyalty card where you get the 10th lunch special free! Have already used one! Get the chicken balls and the General Tao chicken bits.

Large portions well prepared and served by knowledgeable staff. Priced right for a family 6 approx. $70.00 plus tip. Very clean with fast service.

We were served a fully boned eel roll and sour salmon. Ontop of the waitress being very rude we did not recieve so much as an apology just a nod so I am assuming this is the regular there we will never go back again.
