The Hayloft Cafe Bistro

The place is a bit out of the way and there is a campsite right next to it so couldn't spot the place straight away. But campsite and cafe's staff was very friendly to help us out. Parked there with no charge. Got pizza (the only thing available at that time) and it was a absolutely delicious!!! Just right thing we needed)

My partner and I ate here last night. We stayed at the campsite and with it being so cold and wet we took their recommendation to eat here and so glad we did!! Definitely not to be underestimated. The food was so good and quite obviously made to order, and the guy who served us was really lovely too. Genuinely disappointed we didn’t stay another night so I could go back for more battered brie wedges!

Really nice people. Food was really nice. Made to order, piping hot and presented well. We ate there twice during our stay at Castlerigg.

Appreciate it was busy with takeaways but no member of staff noticed that we had not received our meals after an hour had passed, they hadn’t even started cooking!!!We told them not to bother and left, they didn’t charge us for the drinks, but not in a hurry to come back

We have been on the Castlerigg Farm now for a week. We have eaten in the Hayloft 4 times and each meal was delicious. Proper home cooked dishes ans the staff are so welcoming. Hats off to the chef you have a little haven in there xx
