This is definitely the best place for seafood in Southern California! If you like seafood- you have to try their famous ceviche de camaron en salsa verde. It is simply the best! Today I came with my daughter and we also ordered 2 mojarras fritas. We drive 1 hour and 30 minutes just to come here and the food is worth the drive. The staff is always nice and friendly and make you feel like family coming here. Give this... View all feedback.
What Dayana C doesn't like about Mariscos Chente's:
I just to go very often to buy camarones al vapor but now, they are to expensive. And I don't really mine to paid for something that I really like. But they are given less shrimp on the order them before. I agree things are expensive and it's ok to go up on the prices, but come on you guys need at list to put little more shrimps on the orders don't be unfair with the customer. Because we work hard as you guys to get... View all feedback.
Super fresh ceviche great Nayarit style seafood . The Camarones with the salsa Borracha was some of the best Shrimp I ever had
Food was very good !! This is my second time I come and every meal on the menu is delicious
Holy **** were these mariscos good. I had never been here before, but went with a co-worker. As soon as I saw that the owners were from Sinaloa and Nayarit, I knew I was about to have some of the best mariscos available. Those two states in Mexico are known for their incredibly fresh and flavorful seafood. To add to my excitement, on the wall is a framed photo of one of the owners engaged in a warm embrace with none other than the late Anthony Bourdain, one of my idols. Rest in Peace, Chef. Other than the fresh from the sea mariscos, there star here is their salsa verde. Not for those who can't handle spice. Seriously, you need to eat here. BYOB
Little hidden gem. Delicious food. Great service. Chill spot to eat. Would definitely recommend
Don't be fooled: This place looks like a hole-in-the-wall from the outside, and feels small on the inside, but the flavors are real, and they are delicious. I had the pleasure of taking my mom here for lunch, and I had the fried fish, and she had the ceviche. The fish was fresh, fried to perfection, flakey and moist. So good. Momma had the ceviche, and she said that it was some of the best that she's ever had, and she makes some amazing ceviche of her own too, so she knows. We had the good luck to be served by the owner's grand daughter, and she was helpful and attentive. Momma and I have resolved to put this restaurant into the permanent rotation of places to go for sure. I think I made her more than a little jealous with my pescado frito! Oh, and the salsa was simple, but different in just the right way, and went very well with my fish. Update: I had the opportunity to go back today, and everything was just as good. I had a chance to try the pulpo and it was very tender, and my mom loved it. The granddaughter of the founder of the restaurant came out and talked with us again. She was very nice and was kind enought to tell us about the family and the history of the restaurant. Super cool place, and I was happy to support a local family-owned landmark. We'll definitely be back.
