Amazing location just on the Thine river, overlooking vineyards. Beer is ok but the food is pretty average. I would recommend to go there in the afternoon and just order drinks. Food is not worth the calories.
If you enjoy fresh air and nature walks along the Rhein River you'll definitely love this atmosphere. This beautiful area is for the whole family to enjoy especially if you have smaller children. After your nice stroll along the Rhein River go and enjoy the Summer Garden with a glass of wine or beer. I highly recommend eating a BRATWURST!
On a sunny day, this is a wonderful place to munch an enormous bratwurst and enjoy a glass of wine. Lots of tables and chairs in the open air to just relax and watch the ships, barges and ferries ply the river. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the atmosphere, and there's a large tent with plastic windows in case it's a bit too cool, or if it rains. Be careful about feeding leftovers to dogs--some owners don't appreciate that (and won't hesitate to tell you so). But the birds appreciate leftover hotdog buns!
It's a bit of a funny system as you line up and pay at the cashier (look for Kasse) and then take your receipts to the stalls for you food and drink. The hotdogs (bratwurst in brötchen) are massive and tasty; the wine wasn't vintage but perfectly drinkable. we sat outside and watched the river flow by with big barges piled with coal, speedboats and the ferry from Oester Winkle plying back and forth. It's very rough and ready and we didn't need the toilet so I don't know even if there is one. ideal if you are cycling along the bank of the Rhein or driving over on the ferry
