Library, Ingatestone
Description
Tucked into Brentwood’s artsy quarter, The Library blends inventive cooking and attentive service with a lively bar vibe suited to celebrations. Set menus and creative dishes (notably a Jollof rice with suya twist) shine, and staff are accommodating for events and special requests. Experiences vary: mains are praised but starters have arrived cold, service can feel rushed, bills have been steep, and restroom maintenance was criticized. Overall, a stylish spot for group dinners and late drinks — great for parties if you accept occasional inconsistency.

The best roast dinner I've ever had. Beef out of this world, beautiful veg and truffle gravy to die for! Can't wait to try the rest of their menu.
I'm taking part in the Brentwood art trail and I'm based in the library under Paul Dodd no 53 in the art trails brochure. The library has been very helpful and friendly. I'm one of over 70 artists taking part in this year's art trail running until the 25th of june
Brilliant librarians, and a lovely library though the County Council seems intent on closing it down. Their current tactic seems to be to slowly make it harder to use so they can use the falling usage as a reason for closure. There is a comfy new sofa to read on, and some lovely new children's books to check out at the moment. Use it or lose it!
