The Cafe At Shields - Indio

Service is really good. the place is very crowded, but there is a great being to roam while they wait. I have filled the chile relleno with quinoa, black beans and some others. a little sharp, but very good. I had left her from the cream sauce. as all this comes on the plate, I ordered the sweet potato frits and a side of the buzz without cheese on top. they also have a portobello “burger” sandwich with paprika, squash, aubergine. please let the pesto away. also not sure whether the Focaccia ben is vegan or not. they therefore try to take at least vegetarian and make it easy for vegans. updated by previous review on 2021-02-28

We usually stop at the Shields Date Garden when traveling through this area. This time we opted to try the cafe for lunch. We wanted to introduce our friends to the historic Date Shake but we also needed lunch. The inside of the cafe is quite small but nicely decorated. We had a friendly server. Prices were reasonable and the portions were pretty big. The stuffed date was HEAVENLY. Four of us had four different things and everyone like what they ordered.

The omlette with dates in it is HEAVENLY!!! The staff was friendly and attentive. I enjoy eating here every time I visit Palm Desert.
