Was User at Modita a mag?
I visited Modita for Devour Indy Winter 2023 and everything was fantastic! I especially loved the wagyu filet; it melted in our mouths and was worth every penny. The wrong soupe was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the miso salad was also excellent. Additionally, the bao beans were delicious. The only dish we didn't enjoy was the garnelen tempura roll, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, we had a wonderful cul... View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Modita:
Food was good, but service was not great, which is unusual for CG restaurant. Maybe we were spoiled at Vida the night before, lol. We had a reservation, but weren’t seated for 20 minutes after our arrival. What’s strange is that we were seated at a table that was empty and ready from the moment we walked in. Our server forgot drinks twice and one of our entrees was forgotten and had to be re-submitted. The entree arr... View all feedback.
First time and it was Delicious!! Our waiter Jordan was very knowledgeable and pleasant .. he’s awesome!Bao Buns and Obe (ice cream) were my favs!! Pork belly was seasoned and glazed nicely with the slaw. That Obe with pieces of heath on top yum!! ! Dumplings and spring rolls were pretty good too. Oh I also had cocktail with gin, lemonade , pineapple and dash of white pepper I believe it’s called “Yang”. The white pepper Added a little kick but good! Sign me up I’ll come be back!
We ordered several dishes to share among the four of us. The drinks were fantastic; I highly recommend the Sambhu. My favorite dishes were the fried Brussels sprouts and the bao buns.
Today we visited Modita to celebrate our anniversary. We were immediately sat and greeted by our server Evan. Evan did a brief detailed description of the menu and brought out our food in a fast timely matter, his acts of service were spot on. One thing I quickly noticed was how exquisite the service was, not only from our server Evan but the rest of the staff. Our table was approached by 3 different servers that helped fill our water and clear our tables. Evan was a kind generous man and he highlighted our evening. For starters we got the Salmon Nigiri and Crab Rangoons. The Salmon Nigiri was a simple high quality dish that prepared the flavor palette for the food that was to come. I can say the same thing for the Crab Rangoons, it was a fresh high quality dish that came out hot and ready and was paired with a sweet and spicy sambal sauce. For our entrees I ordered the Wagyu Skirt Steak and my significant other ordered the Shrimp Tamarind noodles. The Wagyu Skirt Steak was remarkable. The steak was cooked perfectly throughout and was tender and flavorful. The steak alone was high quality and had no fats. My partners Shrimp Tamarind noodles were flavorful and the ingredients in the dish paired perfectly with eachother. He also noted that the shrimp was one of the best he’d had in his life. Finally for dessert we got the Chefs Seasonal Choice which was chai ice cream. I’m a HUGE FAN of chai and I can tell this was pure chai not artificial. The presentation was lacking but the taste was there.Salmon Nigiri: 10/10Crab Rangoons: 8/10Shrimp Tamarind Noodles: 9/10Wagyu Skirt Steak: 10/10Chefs Seasonal Choice: 6/10
My experience tonight was disappointing. I was recommended a ramen-like dish that arrived without any broth. Our appetizer came out after the main course and was burnt, making it unenjoyable. While the staff tried to address these issues, I can’t fully recommend this restaurant.
