Amazing!!! Alli was our server this evening! She made the experience even more enjoyable! Food is an easy 5! The Sauerbraten was as I remembered when I was in Frankfurt! When we are in Indy this will be our stop! View all feedback.
What De C doesn't like about Edelweiss:
The food is hit and miss. The sauerbraten isn’t what your grandma made. Tough meat and the gravy had so much vinegar it was inedible. The pork was good, though. Beer good as well. German potato salad had good flavor, and so was the cabbage soup. View all feedback.
Had a good food experience. However, it was apparent they was under-staffed. Waited to long for refills, ordering and receiving our food. I will return because of its food.
Jagermeister and spaetzel good. German potato salad left much to be desired. Onion rings were good but the chicken was average. And, the Horseradish Mashed Potatoes were room temperature at best, very dry and no horseradish taste. Somewhat disappointed as we looked forward to a great German food experience.
We started with fried mushrooms very tasty and a surprisingly large serving. After that, I had a very tasty house soup while my wife had a somewhat disappointing house salad. Our entrees were Wiener schnitzel, which was wonderful though there was a tough bit that should have been cut out, and a sausage selection that was exactly what we expected from a German restaurant. Sides were horseradish mashed potatoes (definitely recommend), German potato salad (a bit sweet, but tasty), sauerkraut (meh), and red cabbage (good). We normally skip dessert, but were impressed enough with the food overall to get desserts (strudel and German chocolate cake) both of which were great. On top of all this, the service was very good. If you like German food, and are in the area, this is a great choice.
Amazing German food and wine, excellent service and delights all German pictures, videos, maps, artefacts and decorations. This is our favorite restaurant for family celebrations. Food: 5/5
This is a German restaurant that serves the core dishes reliably and inexpensively in a German club. Staff are very friendly and respond well to those who are polite and friendly in return. I guess those who complained about the staff were either irritable from the start or caught employees during a very bad day. They serve buffets on Wednesday and Saturday evening, so it is a great opportunity to see a selection of enticements along with some basic pages. This is not a high kitchen, but it is decent food from a Hoosier standpoint. Unless you hate sour wort and pickles, find something you enjoy here. The restaurant is small, so definitely reserve to ensure seating.
