We ate here before going to Bankers Life field House!! Great location! Fun environment! The A/C had just been fixed, so it was hot... but it happens! We had a great server!! Chips, salsa and guacamole were great!! Perfect margaritas w/Patron was delicious!! However, I ordered one made spicy (which is offered) and it wasn’t drinkable! It wasn’t the spice level, it was so salty!! I ordered the shrimp tacos... they were... View all feedback.
What Devante Schimmel doesn't like about Broken English Taco Pub-indianapolis:
We were visiting Indy for a concert and grabbed dinner here. The inside is lively and colorful and the server was very nice. The drinks were good, but the food was just ok. We had some chicken tacos and the chicken was a mixture of white an dark meat, didn't seem like the highest quality. It was ok, but I'd probably try another place before I'd return to this restaurant. View all feedback.
Disclaimer: We were there on a rainy, Monday night, and we were one of only two tables occupied. The space is Spartan and cold, and plastered with TV 's...all tuned to soccer. If that 's your deal, great, but we asked to have ONE television switched to Monday Night Football, but it never happened. Our server was pleasant, but totally inattentive, to the point that we had to hunt her down for to order food and get more beer. The food, however, was outstanding. It 's pretty much just tacos and chips, but they were good. The queso was very good and one of the two salsa 's was also. The green salsa had a horrible taste. Why this place takes reservations is beyond me.
This place has so much potential to become a downtown Indianapolis staple, but it always seems to just fall short. I've been multiple times and the service is never spectacular and the food can be a hit or miss. This particular visit was a miss on all accounts. A group of 4 of us went for taco Tuesday, the tacos are $2 and house margaritas are $5, what a great deal! We all arrived separately and when it came time to order another round of margaritas, we could barely ask for another round before the waitress was walking away. Understandable though in a busy environment. Unfortunately, it took over an hour for 7 tacos and a side of fries. At this point, we were rushing out to make it to a concert on time and were more concerned with paying right away. The food was decent, but the pork belly taco was more fatty than anything else. Chips and salsa are good, but not refillable which is unfortunate. It's not a terrible place to go, but I wouldn't go with high expectations.

It wasn’t the spice level, it was so salty!! I ordered the shrimp tacos... they were suppose to come with pineapple and cilantro, which they didn’t. The only thing I could taste was the heat from the spice. They had no flavor, which was disappointing! However, my daughter liked the burger and fries! If a few simple changes could be made and the kitchen can send the food out as list on the menu, it would be a great place to go!!

Taking into consideration that it was a very busy Saturday night, I give them some benefit of the doubt. However, service was horrible. Restaurant was a mess, especially the bathroom. Food was average at best. Probably won't go back.
