Territory - Independence
Territory
Description
Territory is a handsome riverside bistro in the Independence Hotel, pairing farm-to-table cuisine with handcrafted wood tables, fireplaces and multiple dining options from a glass atrium to a covered patio and rooftop. Menu standouts include burgers, brussels sprouts and reliably excellent salmon, plus inventive dishes like wild boar ragu; some entrees (notably steak) and a few appetizers can be uneven. Service and pacing are inconsistent and prices are mid–high, but the views, cocktails and creative fare keep guests returning.

My wife normally does not like me driving a distance for a restaurant, but we have a half a dozen times for this place. My wife constantly orders salmon since it is the only restaurant in a 30 mile radius she thinks consistently gets fish perfect. I don't like seafood so I can't comment on that. I have tried different things each time and I have loved every dish. Even the Ceasar salad was the best I ever had. The only thing that was a bit strange was the wild boar ragu I had last night. It was not like any ragu I have had. But it tasted absolutely amazing, and very different from anything else I have ever had. It was an experience.
We had a wonderful meal at Territory this evening. The food was exceptional, service not so much. We had our meal delivered, without cutlery, and were asked if we needed anything. ???? We ordered a bottle of white wine and weren't given an ice bucket.???? (Being seated by the fireplace didn't keep our wine chilled. Service was slow, but the food was very good, so we will beback.
This is a really pretty venue. You have the choice of sitting inside (at a table or bar) by a fireplace, sit in the adjoining all glass atrium or dine outside. Lots of seating options all with beautiful views of the Willamette river. The restaurant ispart of The Independence Hotel and , there are tables on their roof that have even better views. I'm not sure if you can orderfrom up there though. There are lots of good local beer and wine options and hard liquor as well. Food prices were a little onthe high end. Most dishes were either $15 or $25. Lots of good appetizers. I've had their steak, fish and chips and Salmon. Theywere all very good with excellent presentation. The staff were all very friendly. This is one of the best places to take an outof town friend or relative.
