Sanity Room - Independence
Sanity Room
Description
Tucked behind an antique shop in Independence, this small, wildly inventive bar pairs eclectic, hospital-themed décor with creative cocktails, craft beers and local wines. Guests praise the warm, owner-driven hospitality, lively atmosphere, river-view patio and playful presentations—shots in pill bottles or syringe-style vessels and a wine-based Bloody Mary. Flatbreads and pretzels are crowd favorites. Expect an intimate, memorable evening; note occasional service inconsistencies, limited restrooms and sparse mixers at times.

Feedback
Beautifully decorated bar, nice atmosphere, but terrible service. This was the first stop for our party bus. We were greeted with people shouting at our group to get out, getting charged overprice shots, and they didn’t have orange juice for Tequila Sunrises. I was not in charge of the bus, but I am assuming the host of the bus didn’t reach out ahead of time, however we overheard they were expecting a wedding party of 90 to come in later in the night. I understand the lack of communication can been frustrating, but when it’s a hassle to order beer at a bar and money isn’t welcome everywhere you’ve got a problem. Didn’t try the food.
