Good value overall. Have visited twice in the past two years and it hasn’t changed. Clean rooms. Third floor toilets were kinda dated, especially since they are unisex (multiple stalls . There is little to do nearby, but the inn tries to make up for this by having beer, tea, and cup noodles available for purchase. Laundry works fine and the bath/shower rooms are nice. What User doesn't like about Shimanami Ryokan:
There is a washing machine in the bath and you can use it for 100 yen. When I washed it, there was a roof drying area on the third floor. In the evening, there were too many cold grilled fish, ed fish, sashimi and fish. When the bath was empty, the key was closed and it was cut. It was nice to have a bath. It was a grilled fish of Kamas. It was a bit hard. View all feedback.

Paid ¥ 9,800 for a tatami room, without food. Fulfills the basic requirements clean, room has aircon, they had cold water, bath was big etc but a bit run down and shared mixed toilet (squat for ladies).

The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and the food excellent. The portions are very generous! I would recommend to anyone cycling the Shimanami Kaido to stay here, it is at about the halfway point and the surrounding area is very beautiful.
Lovely hosts. Great views from rooms overlooking the beach. Great dinner with plenty to feed a hungry cyclist.
