This pub is a hidden gem. You can just sit outside and unwind with the friendly locals. I always make a quick stop here when passing through town. If you're feeling hungry, grab a pie or pastry from Bonners across the road - they'll heat it up for you to enjoy at the pub. It's a fantastic experience.
Just had the most delicious Sunday lunch at the dolphin. Roast pork with crackling all excellent and enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine. They also have excellent Covid precautions.
We decided to stop at this restaurant for lunch on our way back from Devon. We ordered a couple of beers and the tuna baguette melt. Unfortunately, there was no melt. Instead, we received a soupy white mayonnaise on a baguette with a very subtle taste of tuna. It was honestly the most disappointing lunch I have ever had. Despite wanting to complain, we were pressed for time due to a long journey ahead and were too hungry to delay. However, the one positive note was that the chips were surprisingly excellent.
Stopped there for a pint. Very noisy and swearing locals were having (a lot of) drinks, which was part of the folklore I guess. Service: 4
