Jevinik - Ilaro
Jevinik
Description
Jevinik impresses with its canteen-style ambiance, generous portions, and delightful local cuisine that keeps patrons returning for more. While the menu features affordable regional favorites like semovita, egusi, and pounded yam, some diners have noted inconsistent quality, particularly with their jollof rice and grilled dishes. The service, although generally praised for efficiency, occasionally falters, leading to mixed experiences. Overall, Jevinik offers a satisfying dining experience with a lively atmosphere, perfect for those craving authentic meals on a budget. Despite some recent challenges, many remain loyal, eager to savor the restaurant's hearty offerings.

My experience at the restaurant was good. They were very generous with the soup and I couldn't even finish my meal. However, I believe that for the price of the soup, there should be some sort of assorted meat or periwinkle inside, even small cuts would suffice. Yesterday, when I had the Afang soup, after eating the bony stock fish in the soup, it felt empty and I only had the meat I paid for. It would be nice to have some small cuts of ponmo to accompany the morsels of pounded yam and soup. The overall environment was nice, clean, and the service was excellent.
You can always rely on Jevenik for hearty portions of flavorful Nigerian soups and stews. Be sure to taste their Egusi or Afang, followed by their Ugba or Nkwobi. If you prefer rice dishes, try their authentic Jollof rice or white rice with stew.
The restaurant has excellent customer service, delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere. Absolutely superb.
Used to like this place but now the stew is raw canned tomatoes, the grilled chicken came in a pack as pieces of bony chicken with stew, we were forced to take it cos it had already been packed . We decided to try it and discovered that some were stock fish. Also, the catfish which used to take me there, is now very little but the price keeps growing. I don 't know what 's going on tho but you guys can still fix this.
