The company commenced refurbishment of the estate in 2008 which involved the stripping, replacement of all internal mechanical/electrical fittings and internal partitions. The entire external services equipments for power, water and sewage were extensively redesigned and constructed to meet the changing needs of the Housing market. The Exterior facade was also extensively remodeled to a modern finish, while the apartment sizes enjoyed an increased footprint.

The property was constructed by the Federal Government of Nigeria and was officially opened in 1979. It was meant to accommodate the Senators and Members of the House of Representatives. Subsequently, it occupied by the Senior Federal Civil Servants until its acquisition by 1004 Estates Limited for N7 billions in 2007. 1004 Estates Limited was established in 2004 as a private limited liability company by a group of investors to acquire the1004 Estates from the Federal Government of Nigeria. The bakery has a charming atmosphere and a wide selection of delicious treats. I highly recommend trying their signature cookies, as they are wonderfully fresh and delightful. However, I faced some issues while attempting to upload photos of my visit, as there were errors during the process. Despite this minor setback, I would love to share more of my experience with others in the future. With a solid rating of 4.0 based on 2,966 Google reviews, it's clear that many others enjoyed their visit as well. The name "1004" comes from its total of 1004 rooms, which are available for both residential and office rentals. The complex consists of approximately six blocks, each with around 30 floors. It offers a stunning view and is conveniently located right next to the road, adjacent to Civic Center. The building is equipped with elevators for easy access to various levels, as well as stairs for emergencies.

The apartments are beautiful, well-organized, functional, and secure, even though they are a bit dated. The maintenance is acceptable, and while the rent is quite high, I suppose that’s what you expect in Lekki, right? It's all part of the island lifestyle. Overall, I would prefer to stay here over many other places in Lagos where I've lived. I can’t quite put my finger on why, since there isn’t much of a community vibe and everyone keeps to themselves, but I still choose this place over several other charming options. And the view from my apartment balcony was absolutely breathtaking—I didn't capture it very well, but I’ll upload it anyway.
