This is a fantastic family restaurant where the staff makes you feel like part of the family. It's one of my favorite places to dine because the food is delicious, the atmosphere is clean and inviting, the prices are reasonable, and the team goes above and beyond to ensure you feel welcomed. I definitely recommend it!
During my recent visit, the buffet was lukewarm and not maintained at the appropriate temperature. The health department inspected the restaurant on November 19, 2023, which I think was a mistake. On Sundays, the only option available is the buffet, which consisted of fried chicken and a few side dishes. However, everything was barely warm, and the peach cobbler was undercooked – the peaches were still hard! The so-called banana pudding didn’t taste homemade at all; it was quite disappointing. To make matters worse, I was charged $7.50 for my three-year-old’s buffet, even though she barely ate anything—probably less than what ended up on the floor! Most places allow kids that age to eat for free, but not here. We also had inconsistent service, as I started with one waitress and ended up with another. The first one was just standing around and doing nothing. I won’t be returning and certainly wouldn’t recommend this place. I really miss the original Cabbage Bowl. Some say the current owners are connected to the former owners of Randy’s in Trenton, which has since closed down. Hopefully, the same fate awaits Howard’s restaurant.
