We first found this place in the summer shortly after we moved in to our house in Relva, just up the road (in fact I thought I had reviewed it then apologies! . The food is excellent, a lot of it home grown, and even the house wine is their own! The staff are very welcoming, we are very glad to have found such a lovely restaurant so near to our new holiday home! View all feedback.
What Gary W doesn't like about Prato Cheio:
As the elegant, sophisticated restaurant name of 'Full Plate ' suggests, this is a place serving large quantities of food at cheap prices, mainly to locals and truck drivers in the (lovely) small town of Medelim. Wipe clean tables, paper napkins, lots of meat, you get the idea! I am sure the owners and the clients don 't read Trip Adviser. It 's acceptable if you are desperate, I suppose. Fátima cuidou de nós mesmo com a barreira do idioma. Comi o prato do dia, generoso e delicioso. Tarifa básica portuguesa a bom preço. Altamente recomendado.

But I 'd be tempted to drive another 8 km to Monsanto where there 's much more on offer, including distinctive local cuisine.
What a fantastic restaurant. It was spotlessly clean. The range of food was amazing. It was so tasty an well presented. Will make a point of going there as often as possible. Such a pleasant experience.......
