You can't help but love this local friendly restaurant!! They have great service and delicious food with a large variety for a small local place! They also have a full bar and serve **** Mary's at breakfast. It is on the Main Street in Idaho Springs with a paid parking lot near by $2.00) per hour. We were in and out in about an hour. We have had breakfast and lunch here, always a great experience! Joe loved his green... View all feedback.
What Michelle T doesn't like about Main Street:
The overall atmosphere felt like they just want your money and for you to leave. The service was disappointing, and the sandwich was overpriced for the small portion you get. They need to improve; it wouldn't take much effort. View all feedback.
This place is a must if you're an Idaho Springs we actually came here twice for breakfast. Their pancakes were some of the best I ever had. We had them infused with blueberries. The staff was friendly and attentive as well. Highly recommend going to this place.
I stopped in Saturday morning, while out for a Saturday morning motorcycle ride, guided by other Yelp reviews suggesting a visit. Overall, it's a pleasant breakfast joint with indoor and outdoor seating in which they took over the street like the other local establishments. Strangely enough it's not on Main Street. It's on Miner Street. Nonetheless, it was a busy Saturday morning. One of the advantages I have in riding solo is I can usually get a spot right away. And today was no different. They seated me quickly and after a few minutes the waiter came over and took my order. In fact, I asked him his opinion whether I should get the huevos rancheros or the breakfast burritos smothered. He informed me that the huevos are served on a corn tortilla and the breakfast burrito was a flower tortilla, which I prefer. As for the burrito, it was okay. Certainly it had some nice chunky bacon inside of it, but, and it's a personal preference, the cheese was not melted on top of it rather it was sprinkled on it, and the green chili wasn't the greatest. As for my beverage selection, I had iced tea, but it was pretty weak. The service was good and attentive. I can't say I'd be back,..... but it's certainly a good stop for those headed to the mountains looking for a good breakfast joint.
There are a few things Mainstreet Cafe is doing well. Food isn't one of them, or at least, for us, it wasn't. What was great? Super cute location. We sat outside under a patio umbrella and ended up weathering a quick summer rainstorm. Our wait staff was also awesome. She was attentive and offered to move us indoors when the rain started. No worries for us, as it cooled things down a bit. Of our party of four, no one raved about their orders. We were hungry and so, even with my less than great breakfast, I ate it. We waited for quite some time and were traveling, so didn't want to wait any longer to have my plate reheated. I imagine what might have happened was my order was plated first and cooled to completely cold by the time the rest of the plates were ready. Bad timing and no quality checks before sending it out. Cold sausage and gravy isn't yummy. That said, our wait staff did offer to reheat it and later offered a discount on our bill, so that was a nice surprise. We'll likely give Parkside Cafe another try. After all, everyone has an off day at some time or another.
I can't think of a more aptly named restaurant. Main Street Restaurant sits pretty on the Idaho Springs main drag. Many claim its the best breakfast spot in Clear Creek County, and now I see why. The wife and I were staying in a cabin up the mountain and felt like returning to civilization for a bit. It was a beautiful day, albeit in mid-February, and Main Street Restaurant was popping. For a late ate breakfast around 1230, wait times were around 25 minutes. I think we were offered a table in 20! The restaurant itself is quaint and cozy. Filled with regulars and travelers curing their morning fix. Main Street Restaurant is known for their benedicts and omelettes, but you'll find lunch options, pancakes, **** marys, etc. Corned beef hash is my typical order if a breakfast joint serves it. When I saw it all rolled up into an omelette my mind was made up. It was a huge serving, complete with hash browns and toast. The flavors inside the omelette worked well together. The eggs were just a little overcooked for my liking. I've tried to come here for years post hike, but during the summer it's definitely a popular spot to get into. If you're willing to be patient, I think you'll find your experience here well worth it. A textbook neighborhood, mountain town restaurant!
I'm not sure how we've never been here. Main Street Restaurant has what I think is the best breakfast place in Idaho Springs. They have a huge selection of Benedict's and omelettes. I would say it was larger than any other restaurant I've seen, and they have even married the two into a benedict omelette, which my wife ordered. There are honestly a lot of places to eat in Idaho Springs, but this is going to the top of my list. The service was great and there was seating on New Years Day. I ordered the Hash Benedict, so instead of the traditional Canadian bacon, there's corned beef hash. Which is an amalgam of two of my favorite breakfasts. And it was great. I couldn't finish it all because I partied a little too hard on New Years Eve, but it even reheated well. The Benedict Omelette was also very good. There was diced Canadian bacon, onions and hollandaise sauce in the omelette. It came with a slice of toast and some homefries. It was a large meal. We overheard another waiter mention that you HAVE to get the bacon, and I agree. Unless you're a vegetarian, get the bacon. It's thick sliced and delicious. I'm more of a sausage guy, but this bacon was good. I'd highly recommend MSR if you can find parking and you are hungry for breakfast. This is a GREAT local gem with great food. Don't tell all your friends though. I want to still be able to get a seat when I'm rolling through!
