It is clean and bright... read more Having now read some of the previous reviews it makes me wonder if we were in the same pub. The Soldiers Return is a cosy, old style pub. It is clean and bright it was a sunny day . There is plenty of parking space. The staff and the customers were polite and friendly. It was mid afternoon so not crowded. We had late lunch, fish and chips, which was tasty and very reasonably priced. The landlady told us that she had not been there long and had had some teething problems, par for the course I suppose. Some people can be resistant to change. My friend and I would certainly call again .

I heard their was a recent management change that improved quality though prices rose a bit compared with other places, I found prices alright.
