When I arrived in Huacachina I was very hungry, and happened to walk by this small restaurant. This is a basic, simple restaurant, nothing fancy. It is near Desert Nights, which is overpriced but has a lot of american-style food. Well I ordered a ceviche here and the quality was good, although not amazing. I would definitely eat here again. The size of the portions is good, and the price is reasonable for Huacachina. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mayo Ica:
Rooms are not superclean but ok. Good beds and tv. Food is ok.Bad wifi, no hot water and the condition of the water in the swimmingpool is bad! The water is green, you don't see your feet while in the water. It's overpriced like every restaurant/hotel in Huacachina. View all feedback.
Please don't do the Buggy trip with them! At first, the buggys have no real seat belt, secondly the buggy was not working, we were stuck in the desert for 40 minutes, thirdly we booked for 2 hours, was 90 minutes in the desert and had to wait half the time for another buggy that was also a defect. Fearable experience and bad customer relationship, the owner would not give you the money back.
I would have all my meals here if possible. Definitely a house cooked meal with low prices for the amount of food. Two meals and a big beer ran us at 54 soles (17 us dollars). The same two meals in a more attractive place were about 120 soles (40 us dollars). I recommend this place for a home cooked meal that will fill you for the activities in Huacachina or near Ica.
It sounds like I'm not the only person cheated on this place. I paid for a stupid Buggy tour that was brilliant), but the guy gave me a fake 50 note. Now a part of me wanted to give the fat the advantage of doubt; Maybe someone gave it to him, and it slipped his mind. Then I spoke to others in the city, and they said EVERY Peruano can make a fake bill a mile away from its appearance and texture, and that it was definitely dishonest. Come on. I was in dozens of countries over the last 20 years and have never given a fake bill for such a large amount of money $15US). To be fair, he paid my entrance fee to the dunes 3 soles), so I was really only deceived from 47 soles. He was drunk when we came back from the tour, so I didn't even want to get my money back....
Came for the hostel, could do everything through them for a great price. They even provided goggles for the sand buggying! Big TVs in room was a great change from normal hostels. Hot water and clean rooms!
The rooms are not super clean, but okay. Good beds and TV. Eating is okay. Bath Wifi, no hot water and the state of water in the swimming pool is bad! The water is green, you don't see your feet in the water. It is too expensive as any restaurant/hotel in Huacachina.
