She immediately asserted that we were trying to wriggle out of paying the bill and we were so shocked that we thought perhaps our payment had not gone through and thus paid again. It was only when her colleague told her that we’d paid that she showed a modicum of humility presenting us with two 50 euro notes and offering a mild apology. Perhaps she only entertained locals, who knows? Such a poor experience given the location and ambience prior to this debacle
