Description

Hidden in a Hyannis gas station, this Eastern Mediterranean spot serves fresh, generous shawarma, kebabs, falafel and baklava at reasonable prices. Shelves of specialty groceries, made-to-order sides (hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh) and friendly staff make it a popular takeout stop. Clean interior belies the convenience-store setting, but some diners note the chicken is grilled rather than spit-roasted. There is no halal certification, so verify dietary needs before visiting.

I'm glad to see a place like this in Hyannis. I'd return to try other dishes, but the shawarma wrap was just average. The chicken is grilled rather than cooked on a spit like the shawarma you find in the city. While the spices and garlic sauce added some flavor, it was still quite similar to a chicken sub from a local pizzeria. The gas station vibe could also use some improvement. I hope they eventually move to a permanent location!

We visited this restaurant while searching for halal options in Cape during our trip. I read in another review that they serve halal food, but I don't believe that's the case. There were no halal certifications or signs, and the owners are not Muslim. Therefore, I suggest not going there if you're specifically looking for halal options.

I stopped here for lunch and was initially surprised to find it located inside a gas station convenience store, but I was not disappointed with the food. I ordered the mixed Shawarma plate with rice and hummus, as well as a chicken kebab wrap. I would definitely recommend it and plan to return!
