Dairy Queen Grill Chill - Hutchinson

Finally, in mid-June, we were able to go to the Hutchinson Dairy Queen. They were supposed to open at 11 a.m., but no one opened the doors. After waiting for about 10-15 minutes at the main entrance, we decided to try the back door because we noticed an employee had entered through there shortly before 11 a.m., and it was unlocked. The staff seemed surprised to see us when we walked in, and we explained that the door was open and the main doors were still locked. There were a few employees struggling to get the main entrance doors open, but they were having no luck. My partner ended up helping them get the doors open. When we placed our order, we informed the employees that we wanted to use our gift certificate, but they didn’t know how to process it. One staff member just stood there staring at us. We had to encourage her to ask the manager for help since that was our method of payment. It then took about 20-25 minutes to receive our food, even though we were the first to order, and only two other pairs of customers ordered after us. Overall, we were not impressed with the employees or service at this particular Dairy Queen. Whether they are new staff or not, they definitely need more training or guidance.

They don't seem to know how to run a Dairy Queen properly. I waited 25 minutes for my Blizzard, and when it finally arrived, the ice was completely melted and it was a mess. Most of the employees were just standing around—only one of them seemed to be actually working.

Nolan provided excellent service while taking our order, but unfortunately, the fries were burned.

Would be nice if the hours were updated online and if your grill was not closed every other day. so far not impressed by the reopening. just disappointed?

Always love they’re cheeseburgers and pretzel sticks with queso. Please be patient with new trainees.
