The food is great and the staff are understanding about dietary needs informing you of your options. I really enjoyed my gluten free pizza! The rooms are inviting, warm and well set out. There is a bit of road noise but it's not bad later on at night and they provide ear plugs. I can't recommend The Hurunui Hotel highly enough! A night here really is an experience! Service: 5

This hotel is wonderful... We had the stone grill meal which is your choice of 2 or 3 meats butchered on site, Steve's on a 400C hot stone. Sizzle and cook it to your liking and savour it with a choice of sides (I gotta say the kumera fries were the best ever! . Super friendly service in a warm and historic building with a good wine and beer selection... What's not to love? Oh... And there's free camping for dinners behind the hotel with coin operated hot showers.

Burgers and ribs are also great, quickly becoming our local. The owners are great hosts and im sure will be sadly missed when the pub sells. Look forward to visiting again.

My daughter loved the touches on her fluffy, and we enjoyed our smoothies. I believe they deserve a bit more service than they received on the day we visited, which is a real shame considering how much there is to appreciate about this place. Hoping to make it a tradition to stop over here for a drink in the future.
