Tortas Ahogadas El Rey

It can be difficult to find restaurants or street vendors that offer tacos dorados made with potatoes or beans. However, this place not only has tacos dorados, but they are also delicious! They are not greasy or soggy, but instead dry and crunchy. In fact, they are even better than Tito's Tacos! The price is just right for what you get, with a special of four tacos for $6.99. The tacos come with cabbage and pickled red onions. I also received a side dish, although I am not sure if it is included with the meal – either way, it's a nice bonus. The red salsa is made with Chile de arbol and adds a nice spicy kick. The only thing that would make this meal even better would be if they offered Chile toreado and sour cream on the side.

This is an excellent place to eat, with very good service and amazing food.

This is always my top and only choice for tortas ahogadas. The salsa and chiles are always perfect, and they use the authentic bolillo roll. I've tried other places where they used a regular bolillo and it made the torta super soggy. Definitely the best tortas in town.

The food arrived 45 minutes late and when I finally received it, there was a hair in it. Will not be returning.

I was quite disappointed with this torta-specialty restaurant. While the other food was decent, overall it was not very satisfying.
