El Navegante Fish Market

I went to buy some tilapia and was quoted $25 each. However, the sign clearly stated that it was $11 for four small ones. It seemed like they were charging an extra $14 for frying, which honestly felt like a joke until they repeated it. Unfortunately, we were really looking forward to trying the fish, but we decided to leave. We then headed to my favorite fish fry place, Uni Mart Seafood Market, located on Main St and 220th. There, we got three large, fresh tilapia for $27. I'm so glad we made the trip back home! We enjoyed it with some white rice and a squeeze of lemon, and it was absolutely delicious.

I wish I had checked the reviews before wasting my time. The man who was working there was extremely rude and unhygienic. I saw him handle cash and then touch someone’s food to place it in a tray. To make matters worse, he had customers inside the store who weren’t wearing masks. The place is really unacceptable.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The employee at the counter clearly lacks basic hygiene practices and has no understanding of cross-contamination. He touches everything without washing his hands. When I asked why he didn't wash his hands after handling money before preparing the fish, he ignored my question. When I asked again, he simply made a joke about washing his hands, which he definitely hadn’t done! Seafood is too delicate to be treated carelessly. This establishment needs to be shut down.

The staff is really friendly! The shrimp is consistently good every time I visit. I’m not sure what kind of seasoning they use on the shrimp and fries, but it’s absolutely delicious—I always make sure to ask for extra. Overall, the quality is excellent for the price!

The fried fish is my favorite dish! It’s a bit on the expensive side (which is understandable these days), but definitely worth the price!
