Tuna city is more like a place to hang and some cocktails with friends as a place to eat really big sushi. The emphasis was definitely placed in the clubby atmosphere and cocktail list as the food. The reels were good. But it was hard to eat when the music was so loud and the lights so dim. View all feedback.
Tuna Town is a sushi bar and teppanyaki grill, but we opted for their lunch menu along with some dollar mimosas, which were just what we needed. Our lunch was simple yet fantastic. I have to say it was hands down the best ham sandwich I've ever had! All the vegetables were fresh, and the mimosas were generous in size. At that moment, I seriously considered relocating. My friend and I shared the ham and cheese sandwich, which came on a French roll with a salad, tomatoes, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, grilled ham, and a wonderfully spicy mayo. It was served with thin fries and a side of pickles. The bread was incredibly soft and fresh, and all the vegetables were crispy and refreshing. You can never go wrong with ham, cheese, or bacon, but I truly think it was the mayo that elevated this sandwich. I’m not sure what they put in it, but it had just the right kick and a remarkable flavor. I’ll definitely be revisiting this dish. Plus, it was affordable — a generous portion for just $8. My friend ordered a classic BLT, which looked amazing. He added avocado for just an extra fifty cents. It was fresh and loaded with veggies, served on whole grain bread alongside fries. At $6, that was an absolute steal. With the six mimosas adding another $6 to our bill, our total came to around $21. While I can’t speak for the sushi or other aspects of the restaurant, that ham and cheese sandwich was the best one I’ve had in a long time. I can see why others have noted the club-like atmosphere of the place; it seems to fit the California vibe. If someone asked me if Tuna Town is a good spot for lunch, I would definitely say yes!
Tuna City feels more like a lounge to enjoy cocktails with friends rather than a spot for a substantial sushi meal. The focus seems to be on the lively atmosphere and cocktail selection rather than the food. The sushi rolls were tasty, but eating was a challenge due to the loud music and dim lighting.
