I am a Californian native, so my only exposure to Cheesesteaks, although Philly's best (which I love). I had the #6 John's Special and a page of Pommes and can confidently say that this place is a step up. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about John's Philly Grille (we Close Early If We Run Out Of Fresh:
I really wanted this place to be good, but they made many onions in the cheese steak, it was like an onion sandwich with meat. Bread was good, but was really sour, not sure why, maybe all onions. The best in this place is portion size, full size cheese steak is huge. View all feedback.
Not a fan of how she redesigns her dining room could definitely be more tables and less space.
John's Philly Grille never disappoints. The bread is ALWAYS fresh and soft with a light cripple to the crust. The meat is delicate and tasteful. My GF and I always get the #1 with only meat and cheese. My recommendation is that you order before time and give yourself a lot of time to get your food. It doesn't take long to prepare commands. No, the sandwiches are so fresh and hot that the rising steam from the sandwich resembles an imminent volcanic eruption. These sandwiches are extremely hot in temperature. We also get Philly Fries and onion rings. They are as fresh and as brilliant as the sandwiches! Beautiful tackiness and wort on the frits and onion rings have the perfect amount of batter. I hate onion rings that are dirty, like those you get from a fast meal. You can say they're frozen. They're not. I give this facility a lot of two thumbs.

I lived in Philadelphia for 7 years, none of this is a legit cheesesteak. The rolls are old. The cheese is wrong. They demand to put diced hot peppers into everything. It's pretty overpriced. In Philly I can get a sandwich four times bigger for a few dollars more. They screwed up a pizza steak...not sure how you get that so wrong. Oh and to add insult to injury, they make you a wickedly over greasy sandwich and refuse to provide you with a bathroom to even wash your hands. Go to an Arby's, you'll have a more edible better value meal and a bathroom. The only good part, the staff was rude and surly like real north Philly people.
