Don Ramon's Mexican - Huntington Beach

My husband had the Chile Relleno and said it wasn’t as good as what he usually gets at Don Jose. I ordered the tamale and shredded beef taco. The tamale was unremarkable, and we both found the rice to be bland and forgettable. The best part of the meal was the shredded beef taco, but it still wasn’t outstanding. The fried beans were decent, and the cheddar cheese on top was melted perfectly—I'll give them credit for that! Overall, it was not a great culinary experience. The clientele seemed to be regulars from the neighborhood. The place had a somewhat run-down appearance, with some areas in need of repair. To me, it felt akin to visiting a dentist in a strip mall, though they did have a bowl of lollipops available, unlike a dentist's office. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Don Ramon offers genuine Mexican cuisine that is truly delightful. I highly recommend trying the Tacos Don Ramon or the Chicken Burrito. The tacos are made fresh, including the shells, and the salsa and bean dip are absolutely fantastic! My kids adore the rice and beans as they are both fresh and flavorful. This restaurant is sure to impress more than Don Jose!
