Curry Sultan - Humble

Wow!!!! My daughter and I went to this restaurant today. The food was amazing. I have eaten this kind of cuisine many times, many styles and Curry Sultan is awesome!! When we arrived, it was in the afternoon during an off time, but they still servedus. The owner (Russell) was full of kindness energy. We were the only ones in the restaurant and Russell took care of uspersonally with much respect and kindness. He made great suggestions to us as we both eat differently. One of us is a veganand the other not. Russell totally accommodated our eating styles as he was very sensitive to our needs and wants. Thedifferent foods we ordered were individually packed and then each dish separately covered in saran wrap. This order was togo , but since Russell was conversing with us, we decided to eat in. He made our dining experience fun. See pics! Yay for thissmall business!! Go and order some Curry Sultan!!!

I get that prices are going up, but this is ridiculous. The quality of the curry is good, the quantity is sad, and service is terrible. Let's start with the drinks- if you order water, you are paying for bottled water. If you order an iced tea for $3.25each, it has no refills. The taste is metallic like they have a problem with their plumbing. After a long wait, and no waitressto be found. You get your $14-$18 per entree in disposable containers. Basmati rice is served in a small container, which wewere told was 2 servings. We asked for a substitute for coconut rice, which the server stated was $1 extra, but ended up being$7. We got naan, which we have gotten in the past, only to be disappointed by it. The owner brought it to our table burnt onboth sides and blamed the cook. He offered no replacement nor apologies and promptly left. $95 Lesson learned- no matter howgood the curry is... It's a small overpriced serving, with bad service practices and low customer satisfaction. Neveragain. Find another place to eat.

The butter chicken was very underseasoned, and while I've had basmati rice before, this time it had a strange texture. The naan wasn't quite right either; it felt like the owner was in a rush to make it after the delay in letting me in. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience for me. Interestingly, the owner seemed upset about my honest feedback regarding his restaurant. If he wants positive reviews, perhaps he should consider compensating people instead of asking customers for them. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand because I likely would have chosen a different place.

I also found it unusual that the owner requires payment before serving the food, which compels you to tip in advance. I strongly urge you to think twice before dining here, as I was let down on both visits. To the owner: please consider hiring a skilled chef who knows what they’re doing. Rather than arguing with customers who are providing honest feedback for your benefit, maybe focus on improving your cooking or bringing in someone who can. By the way, your claim that I finished the samosa and butter chicken is inaccurate; I took what was left home for others to try and to demonstrate how disappointing it was.

I ordered take-out for the first time and the owner of the restaurant was exceptionally friendly! He was managing everything on his own, yet he still managed to prepare the food quickly. And it tasted amazing, by the way!
