Curry Sultan did not disappoint my Indian cravings. The staff is very kind and clearly mark their menu to indicate which items can be veganized. Great flavors and sizable portions.
Love the vegetable samosas, daal and jahengiri pilaf. They are not closed as it says in the listing. The restaurant moved across the street on FM 1960. 5105 FM 1960 E, Humble TX Updated from previous review on 2021-06-18
As one of the other reviewers mentioned, their advertised vegan dishes may not be so. I did notice they updated their menus as of 3/31/2019 to indicate that you must ask the server for the vegan option. But I've been going to this location for at least 3 years completely unaware of this fact and going off faith that what was labeled as vegan didn't need to be double-checked. Very disappointed. I have also noticed that they always seem to be understaffed and the owner can ask you non-stop to leave a positive review on yelp or google, which is kind of annoying given the service isn't always very good. I wouldn't recommend this location for vegans if you want a stress-free dinner. Updated from previous review on 2019-04-01
The menu has items marked vegan that are not vegan. The owner told me, You have to tell us you are vegan, then we will prepare it vegan for you. Don 't trust the menu. I have had two instances of poor customer service from this owner, including him telling me These things happen when I pointed out the mistake on his menu labelling a paneer dish as vegan. Paneer is cheese. We also waited over an hour for our food. Our order was lost, because our waiter bailed. We ended up spending a full 2 hours at the restaurant. There was never an apology from the owner. I 'm pretty sure my Choley had cream in it, because I didn 't know I had to ask for the vegan version of the item already marked as vegan
I love Curry Sultan. It has so many vegan options. The veggie samosas are a meal in themselves. My last visit I had daal with rice and naan and my husband had Aaloo Gobi with cabbage potatoes ,spinach, onions and spices (pictured). Call ahead to order. The food is worth the hassle of navigating the road construction!
