However, o... read more Difficult to balance this review. We stayed at the hotel (excellent , chosen partly on the expectation of enjoying a good dinner outside by the pool. However, on arrival, we found that the restaurant including the terrace was closed, and that our reservation was in the bar/cafeteria, in a rather antiseptic atmosphere, maybe not a problem for the business customers who were probably in the majority. No question that the food was really excellent, with some quite original dishes. At €20 for pre-starter, 3 courses and a bottle of wine between two, it was a bargain too. Service was good eventually: getting a first drink took some time despite having 2 waiters for a small number of customers. We enjoyed our meal, but were not tempted to stay for coffee and a drink as we would normally do, and felt the quality of the cuisine deserved a more impressive setting. At least two dishes on the menu were unavailable (used up at lunch time and no more prepared and the general feeling was of the hotel wanting to work with only 2 bar/waiting staff. We were also strongly discouraged from sitting outside on the front pavement (rain? . We would definitely return if all the facilities were in use.
