Da Mario Italian - Hua Hin

Beautiful location personal friendly taste pizza the best I eat in Thailand outside a bit noisy, but it is Thai so if u love Italian eating, it is the right place!

I have relocated to Hua Hin after retiring in October of 2019. I am a big fan of Thai food, but occasionally I get homesick for some American food, and pizza is often at the top of the list of my cravings. I had heard rumors that Da Mario was the place to go for some good pizza, and then I saw an article which mentioned that it was one of the few Italian restaurants in Hua Hin that was endorsed by the Italian government in regards to authenticity. I decided that I needed to try this place. The restaurant is located on a small road which parallels the beach. It is a tourist area and there are several restaurants and hotels along this narrow road. It actually almost looks like a little Italian road along the Mediterranean, if you ignore the Thai writing on all of the signs! The restaurant is open to the road and you can sit at your table and watch the people walk by. It is quite entertaining while you wait for your meal. I ordered the Chef 's Special pizza, which, as was explained to me, had a number of ingredients, to include mushrooms, salami, and ham. It sounded good, so I ordered it. There was a promotion going on, which allowed me to get a second pizza for a few dollars more. This sounded like a good deal, so I got two identical pies. The pizza was cooked in a wood fired oven, and the crust and the taste of the dough was fantastic. It was a great pizza. What didn 't work for my American palate was the fact that each topping was relegated to its own separate location on the pie. I would have liked it better if all of the topping were spread evenly on the face. Other than that minor complaint, the food, service, ambience, and location were fantastic. I will definitely return to discover more of the menu.

The service is fast, good and polite. The seafood spaghetti is good taste if the raw material could be better, it would be changed from good to great. Pizza is also ok.

Nice restaurant with good service. Not so happy with the taste of lasagna , but decent food to fill tummy.

NOT ITALIAN whatsoever. 1 star because I cannot give it any lower. Absolute garbage and overpriced for what you are getting. Awful experience. Pizza with anchovies was non edible and we therefore left it. The tomato was acidic the mozzarella was like glue. I am not expecting excellence but you have set your standards high with an Italian flag outside your restaurant. So do me a favor will ya... remove the Italian flag and any writings that say Italian or Italy and change them for Thai. What a disgrace!
