Happy Lotus Chinese Restaurant

Food in warmers mainly deep fried.Chinese not sure what was Chinese about it one might like to call it Australian Chinese battered sweet and sour pork with a sweet sauce, battered honey chicken again luke warm soggy Mongolian lamb battered deep fried entrees again just warmDisappointing!

Great range of dishes that keep coming, freshly cooked. Good attitude from all the staff...children are most welcome.

Myself and my 3 daughters and grandson dined here last night, it was a Saturday so it was the smorgsboard. Although there seems a lot of dishes to choose from and they all look nice they really didn't taste that fresh. For the 4 adults and one 3 year old it was $94.50 including dessert which we decided against as they really did look rather unappetizing. The waiters were very keen to take our plates away and we felt as though we were being rushed out of the restaurant. I would not recommend dining here, will not ever go here for dinner again.

We have been regulars at this Chinese Restaurant at the Howlong Golf Club and have always had a great meal, especially on a Wednesday or Saturday night with the Chinese buffet... Unfortunately this restaurant THE HAPPY LOTUS closed last Saturday and the club now WILL NOT have a Chinese Restaurant only a bistro. This was a favourite places for many people and we thank the people who owned the Happy Lotus for all their great meals and hard work. It is a great loss for our little town.

We ate here because we were staying at the Howlong Golf Resort Motel and the club's bistro was closed the night we wanted a meal. Not being big fans of Chinese food, we gave the restaurant a go and it was pretty good. The meals were fairly 'Westernised' but tasty and good value for money. Serving sizes were generous and overall we were quite happy with the meal. The surroundings we pleasant and the staff serving were very good.
