This restaurant is a hidden gem; it's my new favorite spot. I've been there six or seven times since discovering it. The wings taste like grandma's fried chicken - always fresh, hot, and delicious. Unlike other places that serve day-old reheated food, this spot always serves fresh wings, fish, and other items. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. The food at this restaurant is excellent. It is perfectly seasoned without being too salty or bland. Anyone who complains about the seasoning probably doesn't know how to cook or is just overly sensitive to salt. The customer service was also great, with the waitress taking my order promptly and her hair neatly tied back. The food was delicious and worth every bite. I dislike driving down Cullen, but if I do, it's to go to Whales. The catfish dinner with rice and beans is absolutely delicious. They fry the fish perfectly and it's always fresh. Sometimes there may be a wait, but it's worth it. My only suggestion would be for them to offer homemade tartar sauce instead of packets.
I went to this restaurant to pick up food for a colleague, but now I need to go back and try it for myself because the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Their hospitality makes me confident that the food will be just as amazing. I can't wait to go back and give them a try.
The affordable price of the chicken makes it a great option to satisfy the whole family.
Thr chicken n fish seasoned to perfection n fried crispy, too. The servings are generous and definitely going back.
Good food and fresh!!!!! Wings could be bigger at times but I guess you can't have it all. Very tasty
